Kells Celtic kept the pressure on leaders Torro United with win over Virginia FC in the Grant on Sunday morning.

The home side didnt get the start the needed as they found themselves 1-0 down after just four minutes played. Kells didn’t have to wait too long to get back on level terms when Captain Craig Mooney converted from the penalty spot on 12 minutes.

The next twenty minutes was a tight affair until the 36th minute, when inform Kuba Bidzinski made on 2-1 to Kels Celtic. Two minutes later and Ryan Farnham’s long range effort made it 3-1 and that score carried over until half time.

Once again Kells were slow to react at the start of the second half as they conceded just two minutes into the half as Virginia made it 3-2. Kells Celtic restored their two goal lead on 57 minutes when Thomas Carry made it 4-2 . Five minutes later ad Carry turned provider as his corner was met by the head of Mooney to see Kells take a three goal lead.

Virginia did pull one goal back but two goals from Seanie Curran, one a long range effort from 30 yards made it 7-3 to Kells Celtic and ensure the three points.
