Kells Celtic made the trip to Tully Park to face Trim Celtic in a battle for second place.

Kells started with a back 3 of Aaron Rooney, Niall Williams and James Kavanagh with the excellent Ciaran Keating in the no6 position. Defences were well on top in this game with great blocks and tackles from both sides with both keepers having little to do.

Zak Griffin and Eden mc Kay started up front and great hold up play by Eden set up Zak for a shot on target. Midfield had top scorer David Shipp alongside captain Cian mc Manus and
they were excellent together in the midfield battle against a good Trim team.

Chris Darga and Liam Day were out wide and worked tirelessly and creating a
couple of decent chances but no goals. At the opposite end a great save by Ben Farrelly kept Trim out on the stroke of half-time.

The second half started with Gary mc Govern replacing James who put in a
great effort in his first game back from injury. Daniel Farrelly replaced Eden and still it was the defences who were on top. David Shipp fired just wide and Chris had a long range shot just over the bar

A free in for a foul on Cian gave Shippy a chance from 25 yards and
produced a wonderful save from the home keeper. Shane Campbell replaced the injured Aaron and Ryan Halpin came on out wide for Zak. Ryan’s 20 minutes he got plenty of the ball and was outstanding working back on a couple of occasions to win the ball back.

Trim were well on top in the final minutes and a great save by Ben Farrelly
again and a goal line clearance by Niall kept Trim out. Harry Lee came on late for Chris as kells packed midfield and settled for a draw which sets them up nicely in the hunt for second place.
