Kells Celtic player Kingscourt Harps in the first round of the Kilmessan Shield at the Grange on Sunday March 27th. After a cagey opening 15 mins, Kingscourt took the lead following a tapped in rebound after an excellent save from Jonny Lynch in the Kells goal. Almost immediately after the kick off Kell restored parity with a dubious penalty awarded following a foul on Craig Mooney, who duly converted. Kells pushed on following the equalizer with goals from Kuba Budzinski and a fortuitous goal from Carl Jordan. In the second half Kells mainted the pressure and were rewarded with a well taken fourth goal again by Kuba Budzinski following great work by Daniel O’Rourke.
