Division 3B: Kells Celtic 3 Duleek 3

21 May 2022 by Alan Tormey

Kells went in to this rearranged fixture facing Duleek for the 2nd time in 4 games for some strange reason and, for the 2nd time, the spoils were shared.

Kells started with a strong shape and took an early lead through Seanie Curran with a lob from the sideline catching the keeper out.

Adam Donnelly doubled the lead with a tidy finish to leave Kells coasting at halftime and seemingly in full control.

Half-time 2-0.

The 2nd half saw this fresh Kells team punished for some individual errors when a ball given away in midfield was punished clinically before a blind throw back to the keeper was intercepted and slotted home to leave Kells reeling. Now at 6s and 7s, Kells conceded again to somehow be trailing with 25 minutes to play but they regrouped and started playing for each other again and got their just rewards when a fantastic passing move was tucked home by the excellent Chris Darga.

Heading into injury time there only looked like one winner with Kells piling on the pressure but we unable to get the elusive winner.

Kells get the chance to make amends when they host Ardee Celtic on Saturday in the Grange.
